Jacarepaguá - Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet

The Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet, commonly known as Jacarepaguá, was a racing circuit located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was named after the legendary Brazilian Formula One driver, Nelson Piquet. The circuit opened in 1977 and hosted the Brazilian Grand Prix from 1978 to 1989 and again from 1995 to 1997. It was a fast and challenging circuit, with several long straights and a mix of high-speed and low-speed corners. The circuit was closed in 2012 and replaced by the Rio Olympic Park, which hosted several events during the 2016 Summer Olympics. Although the circuit is no longer in use, it remains a legendary venue in the history of Brazilian motorsport.
